Principal Analyst

Role Description

We are looking for a Principal Analyst for a central government agency.

As the Principal Analyst, Corporate, you will:

Partner with the Manager of People Analytics & Insights to grow and embed their integrated reporting function.

·       Lead the development of their corporate reporting strategy.

·       Create a community of corporate data customers to share ideas and best practices.

·       Create meaningful, easy-to-understand metrics that tell the full story—not just the numbers.

·       Lead initiatives that grow connections across the business to make sure their data is relevant, timely, and actionable.

·       Manage projects that maximise the application of corporate data in day-to-day business decisions.

·       Respond to data requests with insights that are clear, concise, and well-presented.

·       Dig into complex data challenges and finding smart, tech-savvy solutions.

·       Document our data rules, definitions, and known quirks so everyone’s on the same page.

·       Stay up to date with the latest tools and tech in the data world—and recommending the best ones for us.

·       Have the ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

.About you | Mōhou ake

They are looking for someone who’s curious, collaborative, and confident working with data. You’ll need to be comfortable leading projects, working with a wide range of stakeholders, and translating complex data into information that is relevant and consumable.

Experience with corporate data systems and their reporting tools, and PowerBI would be an advantage.

The People Analytics and Insights team maximises uptake and application of corporate data, and fulfils the Ministry’s statutory Human Resource reporting obligations. They are a small team that works collaboratively to get things done.

Salary is 118,371.0 to 143,760
